At the end of September, we toured called "Conquer the roof of Indochina" organized by local tour to climb Mount Fansipan, 3,143 m above sea level. We met at the station in Hanoi at 20.30 for take the train to Lao Cai. That night we could not sleep and the weather was very bad.
At 9 the next morning we transferred the town of Sapa in the Tram Ton Pass, which is at an altitude of 1900 meters, where we began the ascent. Dressed in climbing gear good, we were excited for the journey ahead. On our shoulders were light backpack with water, biscuits and fruit and clothes and we wore "stick Truong Son." The local carriers have taken tents, sleeping bags and food in front of us.
Fansipan is the highest peak in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, so it is called the "Roof of Indochina", while the locals call Huasipan, which means large rock loose. Located in the province of Lao Cai in the north-west Vietnam, 9 km southwest of the town of Sapa in the Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range, Fansipan is approved as an eco-tourism site in Vietnam, with about 2,024 floral varieties, more than 700 medicinal plants, 66 species of flora, 347 species of birds, 102 species of reptiles and amphibians. The Vietnamese are proud of Fansipan and see it as the Garden of Eden that God gave to Vietnam.
From a distance, and surrounded by white clouds, Fansipan seems proud and as charming as a girl mountain winery. In the cold wind, we passed along the winding roads through forests where the trees were dressed in layers of moss. Different odor smelling moss, grass, cardamom, moist soil and many kinds of flowers.
Along the way, we saw huge pink worms, 40 inches long and the thickness of the fingers, and hearing the frogs and birds. We had walking sticks, but sometimes we had to come to our hands and feet. At noon we stopped at a stopping point for lunch. After that, we continued our journey and the roads are wet and slippery. The beauty of the landscape, however, made us forget the fatigue. There are several types of flowers display their beauty. The cold wind waving bamboo groves. We reached the camp at 17:45 pm After dinner, we put extra layers and got into our sleeping bags. It was raining outside and the wind screamed.
In the morning we began to climb in the rain. We encourage others, and continued with a sense of excitement. At 10.45 we were at the top and feel the happiness of all, we hugged and took pictures next to the triangular metal tag says "3143 m Fansipan - the roof of Indochina". Anyone who has conquered the summit of Fansipan and other peaks will never forget the happy moment when we discover that we can scale the height, the difficulties and of ourselves.
