Southern Region Algarve Portugal
To the south lies in the Algarve region of Portugal, which is one of Europe's most popular tourist destinations. Miles of clean beaches, clear waters and rugged hills make a great background for many activities such as golf, surfing, hiking, mountaineering, cycling, swimming and more. The Algarve has miles of luxury hotels, golf courses, resorts and apartments, but also some of the isolated beaches and quiet places where the passenger is knowing where to look.

Tourism brings in about 12 billion euros in 2010, which can give an idea of ??the scope of the tourist area. The Algarve has been popular among European tourists for years, especially in Britain, and continues to grow to the point of over-development in the eyes of many.
This is one of the reasons why winter is a good time to visit. The climate is mild enough for a pleasant during most of the season and the hotel and resort offers rooms and suites at substantial discounts. And 'possible to find rooms at very reasonable prices by season rates and is much easier to find space on the beach, or to book reservations at restaurants popular. The golf courses are just as hectic, and it is easier to get a taste of real Portugal, where the off-season arrives.
For further away from the crowds, renting a car is the best - there is a national forest just one and half hour drive west of Faro. The village of Sagres on the southwestern tip of the country is surrounded by National Forest and has seen little development of tourism. It is an ideal place to enjoy some real atmosphere Portuguese and there are close to empty beaches and the lighthouse and fortress of San Vicente.
