Six Important Tips To Successfully Drive Your Dog

Traveling with your dog can be fun for both. However, there are many considerations and tips to follow to ensure that it is a positive experience for you and your pet. This article identifies five tips on how to account before the dog along on your next trip out of town.
There's nothing more fun than the bags and leave town for a weekend or a long trip. A change of scenery from time to time is important to recharge your battery. This is true for your dog too. Most dogs love to travel and be exposed to new places, like you do. But there are some things you need to do to make the trip a positive experience for everyone.
A TIP
Make sure you bring with you the items your dog likes to travel. Being uprooted from their routine and surroundings can be traumatic for your dog. If your pet has a favorite toy or blanket, be sure to take with you in the car. For the convenience of home, may also take their food and water dishes from home to use when you arrive at your destination. Also pack a good supply of paper towels and blankets to clean the dog hair, dirty feet, etc..
TIP TWO
Keep small plastic bags of food and snacks with you when traveling with your dog. The main source of food for the holidays can be stored in the main luggage. Even if you think your dog needs to eat during the trip, as it will be a while before reaching its destination, you still have to have a little food on hand in case of problem and carried out and on the road, then planned. Keep bags of food in a couple of different bags, which are carried out on the trip. This will help you deviated from the dog food when you really need.
Tip Three
If your dog does not currently travel often, keep in mind that this could be a traumatic experience to travel with you. To reduce this possibility, some time before his trip to take your dog in the car for short trips to acclimate to the experience. My poodle Buffy, who was not accustomed to driving a car, except to the vet without fail to launch as soon as they got into the car. That is, until I started taking him when I walked through the park. Quickly combine in the car with something he liked, instead of something unpleasant. Buffy Nausea while riding in the car was soon replaced by excitement.
TIP FOUR
Keep a supply of drinking water with you when you travel with your pet. You can save a couple of bottles of water with you just for that. There are pop-up dishes that can be used as a container for your pet to drink when you're on the road.
TIP FIVE
Make frequent stops while driving - at least once an hour and a half hours. Dogs can get car sick, just like humans, and if your dog gets nervous out of his routine, may need to pause more banal than usual. From my experience, my dogs were so excited to travel, they wanted out of the car and explore often.
TIP SIX
One of the most important things to do when traveling with a dog is to make sure they have identification on them. The identification must clearly indicate your name, your name, address and phone number. It will be a lifesaver if you're separated from your pet. This happened to one of my friends who were on their way from Florida to Texas, in a convertible with a friend and her golden retriever, Goldie. At one point, while reducing highway Goldie fell from the convertible out on the road. It was a miracle she was reunited with Goldie about five hours later, when she received a call on his mobile phone of the person who took Goldie shifts along the highway. If my friend did not have a current identification tag on Goldie, she lost her best friend forever.
Traveling with your dog can be a fun experience for both. Once you have taken a trip with a dog, hopefully, you want to take him on every trip. Your dog will love to explore new places and spend time with you. Following the above tips, you can ensure that your trip with your dog is fun and free for both.
