Sights Shilong, Hill Station Travel And Attractions

Shillong is the capital of Meghalaya, which is at an altitude of 1496 meters. It is carved out of Assam. It is a picturesque hill station, and offers a great holiday all year round. Shillong is an ideal destination because of its adequate facilities, scenic beauty, gays people, clouds and pine trees, mountains, valleys, meadows and an excellent golf course. Shillong is the base for visiting other places in Meghalaya. Here the climate is hot and humid in summer. Here is the monsoon in June and it rains almost at the end of August. The nearest airport is Guwahati International Airport Borjhar. Shillong the airport is about 128 km.
Railroad

Shillong is connected to Guwahati by road number 40. Shillong is connected with neighboring states with the state transport buses and private transport operators. Shillong Peak: It 'an ideal picnic spot. It is located about 10 km from the city. It is situated at an altitude of 1965 m.
Ward Lake: This is a beautiful lake that is covered with different flowers and plants and trees. Located in the heart of the city. This place is very popular for short garden walks and boating.
Botanical Garden: It is famous by the name of Lady Hydari Park. This is a perfect landscape ablaze with roses and flowers of almost all varieties.
Waterfalls: There are many waterfalls in and around this small hill station magnificent. Some of them are Bishop and Beadon Falls, Elephanta Falls, Spread Eagle Falls, Crinoline Falls, etc. It is rich and famous for caves too.
Golf Club: It was developed in 1889 as a nine-hole later, in 1924, became a field of 18 holes. Is termed as' Gleneagle of the East ", the United States Golf Association Library and Museum.
Some other attractions are the State Museum, Lum Nehru Park, Kyllang Rock, etc.
