Other Hostels And Cheap Accommodation
What is a hostel, and why you might consider instead of a hotel? A review of some of your options for affordable housing.
The hostel is seen in one form or another for a long time. They are intended for young travelers and anyone else seeking cheap accommodations. U.S. version was originally more complicated, where guests help with chores, etc. It 'much easier now: you rent a bed instead of a bathroom, living room and kitchen. You have less privacy, but cheaper accommodations, and get to socialize.
My first time in Quito, Ecuador I stayed at Centro Del Mundo, hostel near the city center. $ 4 per night, breakfast included. I shared the room and bathroom with 4 others, and a TV room, where guests from 14 countries, and channels in three languages. 80 cents got me drinking rum and coke I played chess with flowers buyer from Holland. Director to organize trips to the snow-covered volcano Cotapaxi, to $ 2/hour Spanish lessons.
It is a hostel for you?
I like the inn, but most of you will not. I would like mingling with travelers around the world. You are more isolated in a hotel. "Mixture" of course, could mean sleeping next to a snorer. I'm sure the idea of ??sharing a room is too expensive for some people waiting to use the shower. It's a different experience to stay in a hotel.
Accommodation hostels are cheap?
Even if they are the same price, I prefer a hostel to the hotel, but one of the main reasons people stay in hostels is to save money. For this, they are a good option when traveling alone. When my wife and I travel together now, we do not stay in hostels often. You pay for two beds, after all, making the hotels more competitive situation.
Hostels are less common in the United States and other countries, unless you include "bed and breakfast" places. Thesis, after all, as high prices shelters. There are still some good lodging market in almost all states, however. Remember, however, give you rates for hotels and motels in their system. Just do a search for Tucson, Arizona. However, it could show some nice motels here in Tucson that are $ 15 cheaper than the cheapest rate I found.
Try to pick up coupon books at gas stations on highways. We almost always found good deals with them. It is rare that a manager will not honor the coupons. Generally, complete only if absolutely refuse. Read the fine print, however, as they often pay more for certain dates, weekends for two.
Another way to get a cheap room is through negotiations. Unfortunately, for some reason, most owners here in the U.S. prefer to see the coup carried five dollars in the price. This is not true in most other countries. My wife and I were in Banos, Ecuador recently, and said the room would be $ 12. The room was clean, with cable TV and plenty of hot water. We paid only $ 6 per night, paying four nights in advance. The owner realized that we were ready to walk.
